

Scott was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 7, 1975 to Cheryl and Nelson Jones. Scott graduated from The Lovett School in 1994 where he played football, basketball, and soccer. He attended The University of Georgia.
Scott is survived by his two sons, Landon Alexander, and Brooks David; his parents, Nelson Lee and Cheryl Jones; a brother and sister-in-law, Stuart and Katherine Jones; a sister and brother-in-law, Melanie Jones Sotomayor and Justin Sotomayor; his grandparents, Nelson and Jean Jones, and the late Donald Reid and Gloria Hall.
Scott was a devoted father, son, and brother; his whole life revolved around his boys. He was also an avid adventurer/sportsman; he loved fishing, hunting, snowboarding. The UGA Bulldogs, the Boston Red Sox, and Manchester United were his passion. Scott’s other love was music; Widespread Panic in particular.
After college, Scott moved to Gulf Point, MS and was owner-operator of Lighthouse Gardens Inc, Solid Rock LLC. After Landon was born they moved to Big Sky, MT where he was owner of Headwaters Irrigation Consultants
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be made to College America, a college fund established for Landon and Brooks Jones. Visitation will be held at H.M. Patterson & Son from 6 - 9 p.m. Thursday, May 7. (1157 Old Canton Rd, N.E. Marietta, GA 30068 770-977-9485). A Celebration of Scott’s Life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 8 in the Chapel at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church (955 Johnson Ferry Road Marietta, GA 30068) with a reception held in the Magnolia Room.
