Shirley Jean Parrott, age 78, of Mableton, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Parrott spent 20 years as a military wife living in the Philippines, New Mexico, California, and Washington State; eventually settling in Mableton, Georgia in 1972. She was a retired dispatcher, serving 10 years with Georgia Tech at their physical plant. Mrs. Parrott loved to travel, was an avid reader, and collected hummingbirds. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother, doting grandmother and great grandmother who treasured spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Arlin Edward Parrott. Children: Cathy Kesler and her husband, Roger; Barbara Black; and Michael Parrott. Grandchildren: Liza Kesler, Eleyna Morris, and Dallas Kesler. Great grandchild, Sadie Morris.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tranquility Hospice, Austell.
