Thomas Gerald Hudson

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Dorminy Hudson; his children, Mandi Henderson (Rick) and Grant Hudson (Holly); and his cherished granddaughter, Sophie Henderson. He is preceded in death by his son, Greg Hudson (Jennifer).

Tom served as Director of the Federal Archives and Record Center for the southeastern United States. A proud graduate of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, Tom was deeply involved in campus life. He was an ROTC Captain, a member and former president of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, and an active member of Blue Key and the Honor Council. He was also honored as Greek God and Ideal Fraternity Man during his time at Mercer.

An Army veteran, Tom achieved the rank of Captain and served a year in Korea.

Tom found great joy in his friends and family, embracing life with warmth, humor, and enthusiasm.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at H. M. Patterson & Son – Canton Hill Chapel, 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta, GA 30068.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to your favorite charity.
