It was with a heavy heart that I learned of the passing of Dr.Schaefer on the day of his funeral service.Wish I knew earlier. Dr. Schaefer was one of the best at South Cobb OBGYN. His professionalism and bedside manners exceeded expectation. He was compassionate, caring, kind and very humble. He delivered one of my 3 and he was awesome. I also had the privilege to work with him as a mother baby nurse at Cobb hospital. His patients could take a bullet for him anyday anytime. I am heartbroken by the sad news so I can only imagine his family. My heartfelt condolences to the entire family and I pray for God's Love,Grace,Guidance,Peace and Protection during this difficult time. May his Gentle soul Rest in Peace. I would love to be notified regarding any public memorial gathering for him in the future since I missed his funeral. RIP Dr.Schaefer.

Tim was such a wonderful, caring person and we are so glad we were lucky enough to get to know him better when he and his family moved to Erie. Tim's sister, Megan, is our sister-in-law and when they would visit Erie our family was often invited to partake in whatever activities were happening with Tim and his family. We never felt like outsiders.....the whole family was very welcoming and warm. Tim was an exceptional individual in our minds. He was the most generous, compassionate and PATIENT person we had every known. We send our condolences to the Schaefer and Girard families......we are sure he will be missed so much by all but know that he was much loved by all also. God bless you.

I am a patient at South Cobb O-Gyn and Dr. Schaefer was the best! I remember him doing my yearly exam and a song was on the overhead and he just talked about his wife and a trip to the beach and how much they loved that song. He made me so comfortable and was such a professional! He always had a smile on his face. I’m so sorry for the families loss! He will truely be missed!

I work in the medical records dept. at Cobb and have known Dr. Schaefer for many years. He was the sweetest, kindest person and I will never forget him. He would come in to complete his charts after getting off work at his office and I would be there and we would often chat about random things...we talked about a show called Everwood about a small town with 2 docs and that his daughters liked to watch it, but he and their mother would preview it first. He would tell me about his family, and just small talk that made you feel like a friend. I never heard anyone say one bad thing about him in all the years there. And I don't know how they could, he was always smiling, never critical and a joy to know. My heart breaks with all of you as he had to leave this earth so early. I have so enjoyed viewing the pictures and putting faces to his family. He will always be in our hearts.

I was saddened to hear Dr. Schaefer has passed. I enjoyed working with him. I found him to be inquisitive, brave, adventurous and fun loving. May his family be comforted by those memories. May he be comforted by our Lord. My condolences to his immediate, and his large extended family.

Timmy was so very kind! We were in home room together (among other classes) throughout high school. It was so great to see him at our 35th reunion, September 2018. Timmy, still the most kind and fun guy as ever. My condolences to his entire family.

I just saw him a few weeks ago and I shared with him my maiden name is Shaffer, we laughed and I asked who’s spelled correctly....he smiled and said mine! I have known him from my OR days at Cobb and recently my PAS time. He treated everyone even non-clinicians with utmost respect. A characteristic of deep admiration acknowledged not only by me, but others on my team. He’ll certainly be missed. Heartfelt condolences to his family. Rest In Peace Doc, Lurleen Shaffer Edwards “Lu”
