Dr William Owen Caplinger, a doctor of veterinary medicine who helped establish the U.S. Department of Agriculture meat inspection standards, died September 5th of pneumonia. He was 92. Surrounded by his family, Caplinger died at Tranquility Hospice in Austell, Georgia after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Caplinger is survived by his son, Blair Caplinger, daughter-in-law Michele Caplinger and grand daughter Sarah Jean Caplinger. Funeral services will be held at the Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2000 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta GA, Saturday October 4th at 4:00pm.
