William Richard Knight, 81, died in faith on August 19, 2025. He was born on March 22, 1944, in Bryan, Texas, son of William Gaston Knight and Juanita Branch Knight. Mr. Knight was a member of Midway Presbyterian Church, Powder Springs, Georgia, having served as an elder. He was a faithful member of the church and enjoyed praising the Lord by singing in the church choir. He is survived by his wife, Gloria of Dallas, Georgia, son, Russ and wife Heather; sister, Cynthia Hamrick of Lake Jackson, Texas; five grandchildren, Tyler, Meredith (and husband Kyle), Hannah, Jack, and Caleb. Mr. Knight served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, serving in Vietnam, and worked for the U.S. government for over 30 years. He graduated from the University of Texas (Austin) and received a MBA from Georgia State University.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Midway Presbyterian Church with Rev. Marc Harrington officiating. The family will receive friends at Midway Presbyterian Church, 4635 Dallas Highway, Powder Springs, GA, on Saturday, August 23 from 12:30 to 1:45PM. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Midway Presbyterian Church, notating the ACTS (Acclaiming Christ through Stewardship) Fund.
