He was born in Trinidad, CO in 1995 to Christine Pate and William R. Shrake, raised by Christine and Rob S. Pate. He attended Pope High School and was studying to be a Dental Hygienist at GSU. He was last employed at CVS as a shift manager.
William had a deep passion for music, playing the drums, electric and acoustic guitars, and singing whenever he could. His love for music was only matched by his enthusiasm for sports. He enjoyed both watching and attending games, cheering for his favorite teams—the Denver Broncos, Atlanta Braves, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and Atlanta Hawks.
He found joy in being out on the lake, boating, and grilling with family and friends. A true foodie, William had a special love for hot sauces, curating his own unique collection. As a child, he was an active and adventurous spirit, skateboarding and playing football, basketball, lacrosse, and practicing karate.
William was also a dedicated gamer, whether it was video games, board games, or card games. His three beloved cats—Salem, Pax, and Molly—held a special place in his heart. He cherished visiting his family in Colorado and always brought laughter and happiness wherever he went. His quick wit, unmatched sarcasm, and playful banter made every moment with him unforgettable.
Above all, William treasured the time he spent with his friends and family. Nothing meant more to him than the bond he shared with his best friend—his mother. William’s warmth, humor, and love will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
William is preceded by his grandparents, James L. Culbert, Kathy Steinhaus and Gary Mears; father, William R. Shrake and Uncle Michael S. Pate.
