Zane was born in Omaha, NE on Dec 29, 1989 while his father was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base. He is survived by his wife Abbigayle McDonald and children Colton and Paisley McDonald of Marietta, parents Guy and Lorie McDonald, brothers Tyler and Jackson McDonald, sisters Hannah and Charlotte McDonald of Marietta, maternal grandparents Stan and Carol Smith of Yukon, OK and paternal grandparents Guy and Bonnie McDonald of Fitzgerald, GA.
Zane grew up the most funny and outgoing of the five McDonald siblings and brought a smile to everyone’s face. His traits are so evident in his son Colton.
Very musically inclined, Zane grew up playing the guitar in his church youth group and his gifted skills soon surpassed those of his musical mentors. He was a true guitar hero to us all and paid due respect to all of the legendary Blues and Rock guitarists. His music will be something that endures time and will always keep us close to him.
Zane was a U.S. Army Infantryman and Operation Iraqi Freedom combat veteran who served a tour of duty in 2009/2010. During his service he created a bond with his Infantry brothers that can never be broken.
Zane’s charm and wit will be forever remembered by his family, friends, and Army brethren. His traits will be carried on in the faces of his beautiful children.
