Born in Waynesville to the late John David Mooney and Susan Queen, Daniel worked for Ingles as a driver. He was also involved with the Asheville-Buncombe Aero Modelers Club for many years.
Survivors include his daughter, Lydia Rae Caldwell (Nathan); a granddaughter, Evelyn Caldwell; and a sister Faye Kiser (Ray).
No services are scheduled at this time.
