Eva Mae Parker Sutton, age 93, of Old Fort, NC, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016 at McDowell Hospital in Marion, NC.

Mrs. Sutton was born in McDowell County to the late Fred and Kathryn McGee Parker.

Mrs. Sutton was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church of Old Fort. She was retired from her job as chief inspector at Kearfott in Black Mtn., NC. Mrs. Sutton was known to be a prayer warrior who loved serving others. She also enjoyed painting, gardening and spoiling her grandchildren. Most of all, she loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Warren; brothers, Glen and Lawrence Parker; and a sister, Dot Sutton.

Surviving Mrs. Sutton are her son, Fred Sutton; daughters, Peggy Brodersen of Old Fort, and Elaine Tyson of Burgaw, NC; sisters, Ann Bradley of Old Fort, and Bulah (Gerald) Lavender of Old Fort; grandchildren, Keith (Catherine) Batson, Scott (Amanda) Batson, Alicia Brodersen and Michelle Rogers; great-grandchildren, Bradley Barber and Makenzie Barber and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 12:00 PM, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Old Fort. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
