Gertrude Kowalzik Stelzner

She was born March 10, 1927 in Germany to the late August Kowalzik and Anna Sowollek Kowalzik. Trudy moved from Germany to Long Island, NY in 1956 and from there to East Aurora Buffalo, NY. She moved to Marion, NC in 1995.

Trudy was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. She loved flowers and at one time owned and operated a floral shop in Buffalo, NY. She loved to read and cook,and she was a great cook! She also loved the Buffalo Bills.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Karl Stelzner.

Surviving Trudy are her sister, Christa Wandelt and husband, Gus of Marion, NC; nieces and nephews, Susan Tripp and husband, Tony and Billy Wandelt and wife, Debbie, Karl Kowalzik and wife, MaryAnn all of Long Island, NY; great-nieces and great-nephews, Laura, Stacie, Liam, Holly and Daniel; special friends, Sandra Goforth, Carol Goforth and all of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 17th, 2014 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Julie O’Neal officiating.
