James Garfield Biddix, age 78, of Marion, NC went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC.

He was born December 26, 1934 in Spruce Pine, NC to the late Earl Biddix and Pearl Pittman Biddix. Mr. Biddix was a veteran of the United States Army and a long-time member of Grandview Baptist Church. He was a dedicated, hard-working man.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Buchanan Biddix.

Surviving Mr. Biddix are his son, Chris Biddix and wife, Maggie of the home; his beloved granddaughter, who was his pride and joy, Madison Biddix of the home; two brothers, Lewis Biddix and wife, Louise and Johnny Biddix and wife, Rosie all of Marion; two sisters-in-law, Jean Beaver and husband, Hershal and Jimmie Davis; special cousins, Mary Lou Greene and her son, Byron Greene; numerous nieces and nephews; a special friend and neighbor for more than 40 years, Helen Morris; and Mr. Biddix’s pastor, who was very dear to him, Preacher Charles Dicks.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 23, 2013 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion with Preacher Charles Dicks officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
