James Homer Blair

He was born June 7, 1936 in Avery County, NC to the late Charlie Blair and Beulah Jones Blair. Homer worked as a Drywall Contractor and was a member of Mountain Home Primitive Baptist Church in Asheville, NC. He loved grace and mercy and was a friend to all.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Eveline Palmer Blair.

Surviving Homer are two sons, Jamie Blair (Donna) of Stuart, FL and Ricky Blair (Susan) of Marion; three brothers, Claude Blair (Jennie) of Aiken, SC, Fred Blair (Joanne) of Heaton, NC and Troy Blair (Brenda) of Dysartsville, NC; one sister, Mildred Parker (Bud) of Greensboro, NC; seven grandchildren, Justin Blair, Cory Blair (Dana), Kinley Blair (Marcia), Kayla Blair, Kendra Woods (Justin), Jacob Blair and Alysson Blair; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren Blair, Owen Woods and Olyvia Woods. Homer is also survived by many nieces, nephews and in-laws, all of whom he treasured dearly.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion, NC. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Elk Valley Baptist Church in Banner Elk, NC with Pastor Larry Carver and Elder Kerry Lathrope officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
