James Richard Condrey

James Richard Condrey, 80, of Nebo, died Monday, June 13, 2011, at Rose Hill Retirement Community in Marion. Born on August 16, 1930, in McDowell County, he was the son of the late Eugene Columbus David Condrey and Eva Price Condrey.

In 1957, Mr. Condrey founded Condrey Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning in Marion and owned and operated it until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Mt. Mitchell Shriners Club, member of Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge #237 for over 46 years, member of the Eastern Star, member of the McDowell Ballroom Dance Club and a member of Nebo United Methodist Church. He loved gardening, fishing, hunting, golfing, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Helena Mae Browne Condrey; sister, Nell Condrey Cannon; and brothers, Ray Condrey, V.E. Condrey and J.D. Condrey.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Condrey and her significant other, Rick Bowman of Nebo; sons Rick Condrey and his wife, Susie of Nebo and Tony Condrey and his wife, Cheryl of Nebo; grandchildren, Kevin Condrey, Stephanie Pritchard and her husband, Michael, Jamie Cunningham and her husband, Scott, and Amanda Hopkins and her husband, James; great-grandchildren, Adrienne Pritchard, Elise Pritchard and Adarra Hopkins; sister, Rebecca Condrey Fender of Nebo; and many nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Nebo United Methodist Church with the Reverend Richard Magnuson officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the services at the church until 6:00 p.m.

Pallbearers honoring Mr. Condrey will be the members of Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge #237.
