James Everette Garland

Mr. Garland served in the United States Army. He was a devoted and faithful husband, and a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Josephine Shuford Garland; daughter, Sheila Jones of Marion; sons, Jimmy Garland and his wife, Carol of Morganton and Joey Garland of Marion; grandchildren, Paige Thomas, Morgan Garland, Gabriel Jones, Zachary Jones, Jesse Conner, Casey Conner and Jocie Garland; and great-grandchildren, Eli Thomas and Parker Thomas.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 31, 2013 in the McCall Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion with the Reverend Chuck Tripp officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
