Jessie Lucille Townsend Pritchard

She was born December 4, 1930 in McDowell County, NC to the late Colonel Calvin and Janie King Townsend. Mrs. Pritchard was raised in the North Cove area of McDowell County where she attended Concord United Methodist Church and graduated from North Cove High School. She worked several places throughout the years and most recently worked at Baxter Healthcare where she retired. She was also a member of Missionary Alliance Church. Mrs. Pritchard will forever be remembered as a faithful wife, mother, grandmother and mother to all.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother, Jack Townsend and her granddaughter, Brianna Pritchard.

Surviving Mrs. Pritchard are her husband of 62 years, Eugene Joseph Pritchard of the home; four sons, Joseph Eugene Pritchard and wife, Marny of Morganton, NC, Mark Dwane Pritchard and wife, Cathy of Morganton, NC, Wade Alan Pritchard and wife, Suzanne “Suzy” of Taylorsville, KY and Gary Lane Pritchard and wife, Shelly of Valdese, NC; former daughter-in-law, Diane Pritchard; ten grandchildren, Cameron Gardin, Laura Villeda, Melinda Bridgman, Katrina Johnson, Angela Pritchard, Michelle Barrier, Stuart Poteet, Trevor Carson, Michael Pritchard and Jonathan Pritchard; eight great-grandchildren, Bethany Bridgman, Maya Villeda, Jasmine Villeda, Nicholas Villeda, Adrienne Pritchard, Elise Pritchard, Trevor Barrier and Luke Barrier; and her lifelong friend, Aileen Garland.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Missionary Alliance Church on Airport Rd. in Marion. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM at the church with Pastor Paul Adelgren officiating. Burial will follow at Cranberry Cemetery in Avery County.
