Rooster was born February 22, 1939 in Haywood County, NC to the late Walter Ledford and Dollie Moore Ledford. She worked for Marion Fabrics until her retirement. She loved going to yard sales and enjoyed collecting things especially cookie jars. She will forever be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Haywood Oscar Morgan; one son, Edward Lee “Tinker” Morgan; and three siblings, Edith, Lela and Ted.
Left behind to cherish Rooster’s memory are three sons, Billy Dean Morgan (Vickie), Ronnie Lee Morgan (Melissa) and Roy Todd Morgan (Jaynie); one daughter, Danielle Nichole Morgan (Matthew); one brother, Love Moore; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church in Clyde, NC with Rev. James Moore officiating. Burial will follow the service at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
