

On July 28th, 2011 her 74th birthday and 54th anniversary of marriage, Lucille Jenkins Rutherford received the most precious gift of all as she was called home to celebrate with the Lord and be reunited with her husband Dan who preceded her in death by 2 months. Her loving demeanor will always be remembered by all, whether you knew her as Flossie, Lucy, Ms Lucille or Nanny she was a nurturer and friend to all who had the pleasure of her interaction. Lucille retired from Baxter Healthcare in 1999 after 32 years of dedicated service. Her loving legacy will be carried on by her brother Richard Thomas Jenkins, sister Elizabeth Siler, daughter Mildred Danita Swepson, goddaughter Julia Grant, godson David Grant, grandsons Kenji Swepson and Marvin Swepson IV, granddaughters Kameshya Swepson and Kellie Grant, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were her parents Thomas and Mildred Jenkins and sisters Georgia Alene Goode and Celestine Jenkins. She was a devoted, beloved member of Mt Moriah Missionary Baptist church which will host a homegoing celebration in her honor on Tuesday August 2nd at 2pm. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the services.
