Rev. Marvin Curtis Jernigan

Rev. Jernigan was born on April 24, 1932 in St. Paul, NC to the late Hilton Julius Jernigan and Nora Davis Jernigan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Knight Jernigan; a brother, Alton Jernigan and a sister, Esther Jernigan.

He loved his Lord and Savior and faithfully served him for over 40 years in the pastoral ministry.

He was a member of Nealsville Church of God serving as Sunday School teacher of the Men’s Bible Class. He was very talented, loved music and could play many instruments by ear.

Rev. Jernigan also enjoyed singing with the Shingle Hollow Community Choir.

Rev. Jernigan is survived by daughters, Donna Webb and husband Randy of Chantilly, Virgina and Denise Gaddy and husband Tim of Nebo, NC. He is survived by brothers, J.C. Jernigan of Darlington, SC and Edward Jernigan of Ramseur, NC; two sisters, Edith Smith and Lois Hopper both of Asheboro, NC.

Three grandchildren also survive; Brandon Gaddy and wife Tiffany, Ryan Webb and Lauren Lusk and husband Matt.

Funeral services for Reverend Jernigan will be on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Nealsville Church of God with the Rev’s Doug Carpenter and Thurman Jenkins officiating.

Burial will follow the services at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion, NC.
