

Mrs. Tate was born in McDowell County to the late William Harvey Fullwood and Mary Etta Hardy Fullwood.
She was a member of St. John AME Church where she served as secretary, choir member, and a member of the women’s missionaries. Mrs. Tate was a machinist for over 30 years with Leviton Southern Devices.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lester Tate.
Mrs. Tate is survived by two sons, Don Tate of Nebo, William E. Tate and wife Janise of Florida; one daughter, Barbara Ann Tate of Morganton; one brother, Robert L. Fullwood of Nebo; four grandchildren, Shelton and Shelisha Rutherford, Jamie Tate and Tiffany Trotter; 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 12:00 until 1:00 pm prior to the service at St. John AME Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm at St. John AME Church with the Reverend Nisha Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John AME Church Cemetery.
Flowers are welcome, but those wishing to make memorial donations are asked to consider St. John AME Church.
