

She was born December 27, 1916 in Swain County, NC to the late Fred and Gertrude Anthony Estes. Mrs. Mashburn was a faithful member of Nebo Baptist Church and was an excellent homemaker and seamstress. She loved the mountains and thought the Smokey Mountains are the most beautiful place on earth.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Burleson; one granddaughter, Becky Dunn; three sisters; and one brother.
Surviving Mrs. Mashburn are one son, Jackie Mashburn of Conover, NC; one daughter, Linda Lambert and husband, Bill of Lenoir, NC; two brothers, Earl Estes and wife, Gladys of Rutherfordton, NC and Verlin Estes of Morganton, NC; three sisters, Marie Lonon, Nora Womack and Zora Pippert all of Marion, NC; nine grandchildren, Mark Mashburn and wife, Sherie, Don Burleson, Jr., Scott Burleson, Keven Burleson and wife, Doris, Tambrey Webb, John Boone, Lisa Seay, Renee Hollifield and husband, Tim and Jamie Boone; fourteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; five great-great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with her grandson Dr. Kevin Burleson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
