Perry B Ward

Mr. Ward was born October 11, 1926 in McDowell County, NC to the late Perry Campbell Ward and Virginia Sprouse Gordon. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife; Betty Jean Ward, a brother; Hugh Ward, and two sisters; Verlan King, and Shirley Lewis. He was a member of Vein Mountain Baptist Church, and was a WWII Vet having served on the battleship Missouri.

Surviving is his son; Perry Bruce Ward, Jr., wife Cheryl B. Ward, of Marion, three daughters; Elizabeth Ward Harris, husband Wayne, Kay Ward Franklin, husband Dale, Shirley Ward, all of Marion, two brothers; Larry Gordon, of Marion, Jerry Gordon, wife Blon, of Blue Ridge, GA, a sister; Bernice Pope, of Charlotte, 11 grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.

Funeral service will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 at 5:00 PM at Vein Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Gouge officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Vein Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
