Sara Rebecca Bristol

She was born July 3, 1915 in McDowell County, NC to the late Thomas Lee Marlowe and Dorothy Haynes Marlowe. Mrs. Bristol was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church for over 50 years. She also was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, McDowell Hospital and McDowell Home Extension Agency.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Finley Powell Bristol, Sr. and one son, Finley Powell Bristol, Jr.

Surviving Mrs. Bristol are one son, Ed Bristol and wife, Maria of Marion, NC; one daughter-in-law, Becky Bristol of Asheville, NC; one sister, Dorothy Norton of Marion, NC; six grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 7, 2014 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion, NC with Rev. Jim Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
