Andy Jones

Andy Jones, 62 of Leo, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2025 surrounded by his family after suffering a heart attack Saturday morning. In 1980 Andy started in the mailroom at Deluxe Check Printing and worked up to being a Sales Representative. He moved to Leo Indiana in 1993 and began working at Devoe/ICI Paints as an Outside Sales Representative until 2002. Andy went to work at Preferred, Inc. as an Outside Sales Representative 2003 to present. Andy and Amanda owned the Leo Cafe from 2013-2022. He could frequently be found cooking eggs or filling coffee cups and cleaning tables. Andy continued to serve the community of Leo-Cedarville on the Town Council and as a Precinct B Committeeman. He was always willing to help a friend or neighbor in any way possible. Andy excelled at taking care of his family and those he loved. Andy enjoyed, first and foremost, playing video games with Taylor and watching tv and movies with Amanda. He loved driving his Polaris side-by-side ranger and working out at the gym. He was an avid volleyball player, played ping pong, cornhole and was always up for a game of Euchre. He loved lounging by the pool, traveling with family and game nights with family. Andy always strived to succeed, (he hated to lose at anything!) which made him outstanding at everything he did. Andy was an excellent judge of character, but he never judged a book by its cover. People were drawn to his charm and easy going nature, he could always be counted on for a laugh and a good time. Andy was exceptional in every way that counted!

Andy was born on February 12, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana a son of Theodore E. and Rosemary (Townsend) Jones.

He was united in marriage to Amanda Shumaker on April 23, 2004 at Antigua Island, Amanda survives.

Additional survivors include his daughter: Taylor Jones of Leo; his mother: Rosemary Jones of Leo; two brothers: Gary (Sue) Jones of Muskego, WI and Tom (Sandy) Jones of West Jordan, UT; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Theodore.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the D.O. McComb & Sons - Pine Valley Chapel, 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne, Indiana.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grabill Missionary Church, 13637 State St., Grabill, Indiana with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Chaplain Jon Swanson will be officiating. (ATTENDEES PLEASE ENTER THE CHURCH THROUGH DOOR #1)

Interment will take place in the Leo Cemetery.
