

Carl I. Bonner, 87 of rural Huntington passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at his residence. He was a 1942 graduate of Union High School in Huntington County. He was a life long farmer in Huntington County. He was a member of the Markle United Methodist Church where he was Sunday school treasurer for several years. He bowled for over 40 years in the Bluffton Church League. He was a member of Grange and was a member and past board member of Farm Bureau for many years. He was a member of the Markle Barber Shoppers.
He was born on February 3, 1925 in Huntington County, a son of Guy H. and Dessie M. (Waters) Bonner.
He was united in marriage to Imagean Benson on December 30, 1945 at the Markle United Methodist Church. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include two sons: Mark Bonner of Huntington; Brian Bonner of Greenwood, IN; three daughters: Darlene Chaffin of Delta Junction, AK; Linda Beck of Markle; Carla Herbert of Huntington; two brothers: Guy Bonner, Jr. of Huntington; Paul Bonner of Huntington; two sisters: Eileen Lyons of Findley, OH; Alma Jean Culver of Roan, IN; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Charlotte Kizer, Maxine Hamrick, Tenna Bonner, three brothers: Loyle Bonner, Leonard Bonner, Emmett Bonner and a granddaughter: Jill Maifeld.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral home Markle Chapel with Rev. Steven McPeek officiating.
Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington County.
