Janet A. Myers

Janet A. Myers, 71 passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with COPD on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at her residence. Janet was a graduate of Kenmore East High School in Tonawanda, New York. She attended Saddleback Community College in California. She received her LPN at Fort Wayne’s Community School of Nursing and her RN from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. Janet received her OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner certificate at Indiana School of Nursing at Indiana University as well as obtained her bachelor and master degrees through University of St. Francis. She worked as a nurse practitioner at many places, but finished her career at Parkview Occupational Health. She volunteered at Matthew 25 Health Clinic and the Fort Wayne Women’s Health Clinic. She helped with Norwell Marching Band, she enjoyed bowling and traveling. Janet was born on October 27, 1949 in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of James and Joan (Damerow) Ginty. Her parents preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Jeff Myers on June 25, 1977 in Fort Wayne. Her husband survives. (Jeff passed away on January 27, 2022.) Additional survivors include a daughter: Joni (Kevin) Kline of Ossian; two sons: Jeffrey (Sara) Myers of Greer, SC, Justin Myers of Fort Wayne; two sisters: Judy Ginty of Indian Harbor Beach, FL, Jaci Morgante of Amherst, NY; three grandchildren: Emily Mills, Camden Kline, Jaxson Kline and a niece: Christa Morgante. A Gathering of Family and Friends to honor both Jeff and Janet will be held on Tuesday February 1, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
