

Neva Jean Joy, 82 of rural Huntington passed away early Saturday morning, March 16, 2013 at the home of her daughter. Neva had worked for 30 years at Square D in Roanoke and Huntington retiring in 1983. She was a 1948 graduate of New Hope High school in New Hope, Arkansas. She was a member of the Markle Eastern Star and the TurnPointe Community Church of the Brethren. She loved to watch basketball, IU, reading, walking and mowing the lawn.
Neva was born on December 20, 1930 in New Hope, Arkansas, a daughter of James H. and Lora V. (Turner) Davis. She was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Joy on July 21, 1950. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2003.
Survivors include – a daughter: Pam (Tom) Will of Huntington and a son: Jim (Susie) Joy of Huntington. Five granddaughters: Kelly (Joe) Ryder of Roanoke, Kristy (David) Kokoska of Fishers, Angie (Allen) Bradd of Douglasville, GA, Kerri (Bret) Landrum of Huntington and Amy (Kess) Berg of Chesterfield, MO. Eleven great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and a brother James “Junior” (Bea) Davis of Markle. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Hayes Davis and Winfred Davis; a sister: Ruth Ann Duncan and twin great granddaughters.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle, IN 46770.
Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel with Pastor Mike Shroyer and Pastor Rick Smalling officiating.
Interment will take place in the Star of Hope Cemetery.
