Patricia "Pat" Bowman, 96 of Markle, passed away on Tuesday morning June 3, 2025 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Pat was a 1946 graduate of Markle High School. She attended International Business School. Pat worked as an executive secretary for Huntington Laboratories for over 25 years. Alongside her husband Bill, they owned and operated Bowman Hardware for 12 years and later the Country Square Hardware for 16 years, both in Markle. Pat was a longtime member of the Markle United Methodist Church, where she served as President of the Women's Society, Financial Secretary and Treasurer. She was a huge supporter of various charitable associations over the years. Pat enjoyed reading, sewing, baking and she loved spending time with her family.
Pat was born on December 5, 1928 in Huntington, the daughter of the late Albadore and Dessie (Slusser) Pressel.
She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Bowman on September 6, 1953 in Markle. Bill survives.
Additional survivors include three daughters: Barb (Steve) Nevius of Huntington, Linda (Matt) Brown of Fort Wayne and Diane (Phil) Wedler of Huntington; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson: Clayton Nevius and a sister: Caroline Brooks.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a memorial service to be held following visitation at 6:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.
Interment will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Huntington at a later date.
