Randy L. Bennett

Randy L. Bennett, 58 of Markle passed away at 3:53 p.m. on January 8, 2013 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Randy was a 1972 graduate of Madison Heights High School and was a member of the band and had served as drum major. In 1973 he started working at General Motors in Anderson and became a union member of local 663, he retired from General Motors Fort Wayne Assembly Plant in 2008. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 2209. He was a proud member, mentor and sponsor of Alcoholic’s Anonymous with 20 years of sobriety. He was a proud participant with the Relay for Life. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a knife and coin collector. He was born on October 4, 1954 in Anderson, Indiana, the son of Irma (Everitt) Bennett. He was united in marriage to Anne O. Williamson Worley on June 3, 1989. His wife survives. Additional survivors include a son: Michael (Jennifer) Worley of Carmel, IN; two daughters: Polly (Bob) Needler of Noblesville, IN; Jill (Mark) Savage of Lexington, IN; a cousin: Lisa Bradley of Illinois and seven grandchildren: Gavin David Worley, Bobby Needler, Cameron Needler, Andrew Needler, Tyler Savage, Parker Savage and Ryanne Savage and his beloved dog: Bella. He was preceded in death by his mother: Irma J. Stroud and grandparents: Ray and Letha Everitt. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Turnpointe Community Church, 500 W. Logan Street, Markle, IN with Pastor Mike Shroyer officiating.
