Obituary of Robert L. Randol

Robert L. “Bob” Randol, 88 of Markle passed away at 11:54 am on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice in Fort Wayne. Bob was a 1943 graduate of Markle High School. He was a member of the Turnpointe Community Church and a 50 year member of the Markle Fish & Game Club, former 20 year member of the Markle Volunteer Fire Department, life member of VFW and 40 year member of local International Union of Operating Engineers from 1961 – 2001. He was a WWII veteran who served in the U.S. Army and was a prisoner of war in Germany. He worked for Erie-Lackawanna Railroad, Hoover & Randol Hardware Store and he worked in construction for many years as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 1992 from Fox Construction. He was born on January 21, 1925 in Markle, a son of Wade O. and Mary (Dungan) Randol. He was united in marriage to Evelyn A. Hoover on May 7, 1944 in Markle. She preceded him in death on March 13, 1998. Survivors include three sons: Richard (Elaine) Randol of Markle; Rick (Sheryl) Randol of Delphi, IN; Rob (Deb) Randol of Markle; a brother: Jim (Deb) Randol of Fort Wayne; ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a Son: Mick Randol, a brother: Billie Joe Randol and a sister: Ola Jane Randol. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 3:00 pm with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel with Pastor Mike Shroyer officiating. Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery. Memorials may be made out to Markle Fish & Game Club Park Foundation or Turnpointe Community Church both in care of Myers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 403, Markle, IN 46770.
