

Billy Randell VanDyck went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ October 27, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, October 31, 2011 at Adams Funeral Home, Marlin, Texas.
Billy was born in Waco, January 12, 1942, to Willie H. and Elsie Linkous VanDyck. He attended Waco schools and then proudly served his country in the US Army. On April 12, 1981, he married the love of his life, Sharon Reuwer and they had 30 plus wonderful years together. Billy and Sharon loved to travel and were blessed to see many wonderful places in our great country. Billy loved to travel, go to Oklahoma, and horse racing. Most of all he loved his family, his church family and his precious pets, Tootsie, Tippi and Goldie (all Shih Tzu puppies).
Billy worked for 40 years in the tire business - Kendrick Tire in Waco and Evans Tire in Marlin. He was employed by Texas Star Security at the time of his death where he was the supervisor of security at the Waco Tribune. He loved his job and could hardly wait to go to work. He was a member of Trinity Memorial Baptist Church in Marlin.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved pets, Tootsie, Tippi and Ike.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sharon; and his sister, Barbara and husband, Vernon Cunningham; brother Frankie Linkous; mother-in-law, Billie Cooper; sister-in-law, Sandy Bone of Alto; and nephews, Randy and Bobby Cunningham and their families. He is also survived by his son, David Melton of Marlin, and Beverly Harbold and husband, Bob of Harrisburg, PA. Billy raised David and Beverly as his own and loved them. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
A special thank you for all the nurses and staff at Providence Hospital for their excellent care of or beloved Billy. A special thank you to Dr. Thomas Harris of Texas Oncology and Dr. Robert Wilcox, family doctor, who tried so hard to help Billy.
Pallbearers will be Larry Lawless, Douglas Porter, Eddie Hamilton, Bobby Cunningham, Frankie Linkous. Honorary pallbearers will be the security guards of Texas Star and his friends at the Waco Tribune.
