Charles "Bubba" Reed Cohn

Charles “Bubba” Reed Cohn, 66, was born August 21, 1960, in Marlin, Texas, and passed away September 10, 2026. Bubba was a life long resident of Falls County and made his home in Chilton, Texas. From the beginning, he carried a deep love for the land and the life lived close to it—steady, spirited, and true.

Born to Charles Reed and Mary Anne (Hicks) Cohn, Bubba grew up with roots that ran deep and values that held fast. He attended school in Chilton and Marlin, and early on found joy in horses and the wide-open world they represented. He loved Ranch Rodeos, and never forgot his first horse, a Welsh Pony named Shorty—an early companion in a life marked by grit, laughter, and a cowboy’s heart.

Bubba was known as a hard-working man who put his hands—and his dozer—to honest use. He built ponds, lakes, roads, and house pads, clearing and shaping land all over Falls County. In work and in life, he left behind something solid: places made ready, paths made possible, and ground made better through patience, skill, and determination.

Bubba is survived by his mother, Mary Anne Cohn-Hayes; siblings Charlanne Burson (Garry), Joylynne Heaton (Billy), Becky Woodruff, James Cohn (Peggy), and Joe Tom Cohn (Ofelia); daughters, Lee Anne Neumann (Jeff) and Charlotte Cohn; grandchildren Alyssa Weichert (Chantz), Trey Gomez, Avalynne Gomez, and Lucas Torres; great-grandchildren Aubrey and Chazden Weichert; and the love of his life, Janie Garrett.

Bubba was preceded in death by his father, and by both sets of grandparents.

Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 129 Coleman Street, Marlin, Texas 76661, on September 15, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Funeral Service will follow beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Chilton Cemetery.
