

Charles “Butch” Tacker, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, in Temple, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 3, 1942, in Falls County, Texas, Butch was the youngest of three children born to Albert Millard Tacker Sr. and Edie Martha (Zost) Tacker.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Albert Millard Tacker Jr., his sister Pinky Ann Erskine, and his beloved granddaughter Mckenzi Ryan.
Affectionately known as Butch, he graduated from Marlin High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1964. Stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and later at Johnson Air Station in Japan, he received an honorable discharge after four years of dedicated service.
After his military service, Butch settled in Dallas, Texas, where he earned an associate’s degree in Drafting and Tool Design. He began his professional career at General Dynamics, contributing to tooling design for the F-111 jet fighter and light bomber, showcasing his precision and skill.
In 1966, Butch married Gayle Robertson, and they had a son, Brian "Scott" Tacker. Though raised separately, Scott remained an integral part of Butch’s life and legacy. In 1970, Butch married Vincent Marie Falco, and together they raised three children—Anthony Millard Tacker, Amanda Marie Tacker-Johansson, and Adam Michael Tacker—in a warm and loving home in Highbank, Texas, where Butch resided for over 35 years. Vincent passed away in 2005, leaving a lasting impact on his life.
In 2008, Butch married Sue Odenbach Tacker, embracing her children—Kirk Ryan, Lyn Hailey, Kay Bell, and Neal Ryan—as his own, further expanding his family with love and care.
Butch dedicated over 30 years to Alcoa in Rockdale, Texas, retiring in 2001 due to health challenges. Known for his quiet strength, humility, and steadfast devotion to his family, he left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sue Odenbach Tacker; his former wife, Gayle Robertson; his children, Brian Scott Tacker, Anthony Millard Tacker, Amanda Marie Tacker-Johansson, and Adam Michael Tacker; and his stepchildren, Kirk Ryan, Lyn Hailey, Kay Bell, and Neal Ryan. Butch’s legacy continues through his 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom he cherished deeply.
Butch’s life was defined by integrity, service, and unconditional love. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
