Delores "Dodie" Ford

Delores “Dodie” Ford passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Waco, Texas. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 13, at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Steve James at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin, Texas. Interment will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott.

Dodie was born September 19, 1935 to Daniel and Madeline Stout in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She married Walter (Denney) Ford of Henryetta, Okla. in March, 1952, they were married 59 years at the time of his passing. They resided in Muskogee, Oklahoma and raised four children together. She worked all her life as an administrative assistant, always working to further her career, even working in the office of the Governor of Oklahoma, George Nigh in the 1980's. Later in life, relocating to Lott, Texas to be closer to children and grandchildren, owned and operated several businesses. They were both longtime residents of Lott where Mr. Ford was the mayor for some time.

Dodie passed away at the age of 80 at Providence Hospital in Waco. She will always be remembered by her family as a devoted, humorous, and a fun loving Mother and Grandmother. She will be missed beyond measure from all who really knew her. The mark she made in the hearts of her family will always remain ingrained in their lives.

Mrs. Ford leaves behind her daughter and son in law Bill and Coni Jones of Lott; sons, Jerry Ford of Marlin, Bill and Bridget Ford of Hutchinson, KS, Brian and Tracy Ford of Wellston, OK; grandchildren, Taylor Baker, Brooks Ford, Sloane Ford, Lane Hutka, Jon Jones, Jason Ford, Kelli Jenkins, Justin Ford, Hailey Stephens, Brian Ford, Jr., Cassie Freshcorn; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Hutka, Sidney Hutka, BriAnna Lorenz, Ty Hamilton Jones, Tanner Stephens, Tenley Stephens, Brady Ford, Caidence Lewis, Case Baker, Reece Baker, Avey Gray, Dallas Gray, Jamie Ford, Ben Ford, Presley Ford, Blake Arndt, Kinley Jenkins, Kaitlin Jenkins, Kutter Jenkins; sister, Wanda and Don Rogers of Denham Springs, LA., brothers, Jim Stout and Juby Stout of Plano, and Danny Bill and Sandy Stout of Sherman, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Denney Ford, parents Daniel and Madeline Stout, a brother Wannie Stout, and a sister Patsy Brown.
