Donald graduated from Marlin ISD in 1964 and began working early in life, taking his first job at Western Auto in his early teen years. His hard-working spirit carried him through a lifetime of steady service to his community. He was the owner of Feldman's Drive Inn for more than 20 years, and after the sale of his store, he continued to work with the same dependable dedication—serving as a prison guard at the Hobby Unit in Marlin, then as a route driver for Automatic Chef Canteen, and finishing his career as a security guard at Sandy Creek Power Plant in Riesel, Texas.
In the mid-1960s, Donald also spent time in the Texas National Guard, where he took on a variety of duties, including work as a lineman—another reflection of his willingness to do what needed to be done, and to do it well.
A faithful man in the truest sense, Donald loved God and held close the people who mattered most to him. He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret "Page" Feldman, and together they shared over 62 wonderful years of marriage. Their devotion to one another was the steady center of a life built on love, commitment, and family. Together they had a son, John Earl Feldman.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, August and Vera "Sowders" Feldman, and recently by his son, John Feldman.
Donald is survived by his wife, Margaret "Page" Feldman; grandchildren, Ashley Feldman, Tanner Feldman, and Chance Feldman; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Traiger, and Carter; and his sister, Cynthia, and husband Darwin Bowser.
Those who knew Donald will remember not only his steadfast work ethic and faithful heart, but also the quiet humor that could lighten a moment and bring comfort without fanfare. He cherished his family and friends, and he especially enjoyed riding the countryside—simple miles that matched his appreciation for the everyday gifts of life.
