Donna "DonDon" Wegwerth

Donna was born on July 12, 1960, to Kenneth and Dorlene (Hesse) Jones. As the first of three daughters, she naturally took on the role of leader—often the boss—and loved being the center of attention. She graduated from Riesel High School in 1978.

On August 20, 1992, Donna married her soulmate, Ronnie Wegwerth. Together they shared a once-in-a-lifetime love—fun, playful, and deeply devoted. Ronnie remained faithfully by her side until her final breath.

Donna had three other great loves in her life: her children, her grandchildren, and her pajama pants. She found immense joy in sharing the accomplishments of her children, Heath and Heather, with anyone who would listen. However, her greatest pride was being “Don Don” to her four beloved grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Dorlene Jones, and her sister, Brenda Khoury.

She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Ronnie Wegwerth; her daughter, Heather Maddox and husband Brian; her son, Heath Goodloe and wife Darcey; stepson Steven Wegwerth; her cherished grandchildren, Logan, Lyndey, Jace, and Jentry, who held the key to her heart; and her sister Cathy Taylor and husband Craig. She is also remembered by many other relatives and lifelong friends.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the third-floor nursing staff at BSW Hillcrest for their compassionate care during Donna’s final days, and to Dr. David McCall for his dedicated efforts.
