Evaristo V. Garcia

Evaristo was born November 2nd, 1961, in Guajolotes, Estado de Durango, Mexico to Evaristo Garcia and Cira Villanueva. As a child, working hard alongside his siblings to help support those they cared for, Evaristo learned how helping family and friends would help define him throughout his life. These life events would create a determined, hardworking and dedicated man.

At the age of seventeen, with very little money and the clothes on his back, Evaristo traveled to the United States to help support his family. He was a brilliant man, teaching himself how to speak, read and write English. He would sit for hours reading books in English, learning how to develop and improve upon his skills. He worked numerous jobs and developed skills throughout his years, from carpentry, plumbing, and electricity to farming and mechanic work.

He met the love of his life, Dora Rodriguez, in 1980 and later married in 1982. Evaristo fathered three beautiful children during his marriage, who later made him a grandfather and great-grandfather. His son, Adam Garcia of Marlin, Texas, daughters, Eva Garcia of Marlin, Texas, and Selena Garcia and son-in-law, Brandon Sanders of Waco, Texas. Granddaughters, Abigail Garcia-Martinez of Waco, Texas; Isabel Gonzalez of Marlin, Texas, grandson Adrian Gonzalez of Marlin, Texas; and great-grandson Keanu Allison-Martinez of Waco, Texas.

Not only was he a devoted husband and father, but he was also a devoted brother and son. Evaristo was a caretaker for his mother, Cira, and always remained there for her when she needed him. In addition to this, he stood by his sister, Hilaria, throughout their life and stood in as a father to his nephews Ariel Garcia, Omar Garcia, and Niece Daisy Garcia.

It is obvious what mattered most to Evaristo - his family. Throughout this time, Evaristo never missed what he loved the most, and that was spending time with them. He loved to tell stories and make people laugh; there was never a dull moment when he was around. The best part of his stories was that they would provide valuable life lessons people would carry with them and share with others throughout their lives. That is how Evaristo continues to live on with us every day. What Evaristo did most was smile. His infectious smile illuminated any room and made everyone instantly feel wanted and appreciated. What people remember most is that he was a kind, honest, and generous man. His infectious laugh and kind heart made him a friend to so many people.

Evaristo never missed a chance to celebrate life. He loved to sing, dance, and joke with everyone. Evaristo never met a stranger, always a new friend. Anyone who mentioned him always defined him as a good, kind, and hardworking man. He would stop at nothing to help anyone he could. In 1994, Evaristo opened Garcia's Auto Shop and proudly served the Marlin community for over 26 years. He loved working at his shop, along with raising cattle and bailing hay. His hard work never seemed to stop. It never stopped because this was Evaristo's passion. Working at the ranch and shop was where Evaristo brought in so many people to share what life was about, happiness. He was precisely the definition of happiness. His love, kindness, smile, and caring wisdom will always live in our hearts.

Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his father; Evaristo Garcia, paternal grandparents; Pablo Garcia and Leonor Arredondo, maternal grandparents; Bonifacio Villanueva and Maria Talamante, sisters; Jesucita and Licha Garcia and niece; Diana Garcia (daughter of Pedro Garcia Sr.)

Evaristo "Eddie" García, de 59 años, de Marlin, Texas, falleció en Waco, Texas, el 27 de Septiembre de 2021.

Evaristo nació el 2 de Noviembre de 1961 en Guajolotes, Estado de Durango, México; hijo de Evaristo y Cira Garcia. Cuando era un niño trabajaba duro junto a sus hermanos para ayudar a mantener a sus seres queridos, Evaristo aprendió que ayudar a la familia y los amigos lo ayudaría a definirlo a lo largo de su vida. Estos acontecimientos de la vida crearían un hombre decidido, trabajador y dedicado.

A los diecisiete años, con muy poco dinero y la ropa que llevaba puesta, Evaristo viajó a Estados Unidos para ayudar a mantener a su familia. Era un hombre brillante que se enseñó a sí mismo a hablar, leer y escribir en inglés. Se sentaba durante horas leyendo libros en inglés, aprendiendo cómo desarrollar y mejorar sus habilidades. Trabajó en numerosos trabajos y desarrolló habilidades a lo largo de sus años, desde carpintería, plomería y electricidad hasta trabajo en la agricultura y de mecánico.

Conoció al amor de su vida, Dora Rodríguez, en 1980 y luego se casó en 1982. Evaristo tuvo tres hermosos hijos durante su matrimonio, quienes luego lo convirtieron en abuelo y bisabuelo. Su hijo, Adam García de Marlin, Texas, hijas, Eva García de Marlin, Texas, y Selena García y su yerno, Brandon Sanders de Waco, Texas. Nietas, Abigail García-Martínez de Waco, Texas; Isabel González de Marlin, Texas, nieto Adrián González de Marlin, Texas; y bisnieto Keanu Allison-Martinez de Waco, Texas.

No solo fue un esposo y padre dedicado, sino que también fue un hermano e hijo dedicado. Evaristo era el cuidador de su madre Cira Garcia y siempre permanecía allí para ella cuando ella lo necesitaba. Además de esto, estuvo al lado de su hermana Maria García durante toda su vida y fue una figura paterna para sus sobrinos Ariel García, Omar García y sobrina Daisy García.

Es obvio lo que más le importaba a Evaristo era su familia. A lo largo de este tiempo, Evaristo nunca se perdió lo que más amaba, y eso fue pasar tiempo con ellos. Le encantaba contar historias y hacer reír a la gente; nunca había un momento aburrido cuando estaba cerca. La mejor parte de sus historias fue que brindarían valiosas lecciones de vida que las personas llevarían consigo y compartirían con otros a lo largo de sus vidas. Así es como Evaristo sigue viviendo con nosotros todos los días. Lo que más hizo Evaristo fue sonreír. Su sonrisa contagiosa iluminaba cualquier habitación e hizo que todos se sintieran queridos y apreciados al instante. Lo que la gente recuerda más es que era un hombre amable, honesto y generoso. Su risa contagiosa y su buen corazón lo convirtieron en amigo de tanta gente.

Evaristo nunca perdió la oportunidad de celebrar la vida. Le encantaba cantar, bailar y bromear con todo el mundo. Evaristo nunca conoció a un extraño, siempre un nuevo amigo. Cualquiera que lo mencionó siempre lo definió como un hombre bueno, amable y trabajador. No se detendría ante nada para ayudar a quien pudiera. En 1994, Evaristo abrió García's Auto Shop y sirvió con orgullo a la comunidad de Marlin durante más de 26 años. Le encantaba trabajar en su taller, además de criar ganado y haciendo pacas de heno. Su arduo trabajo nunca pareció detenerse. Nunca se detuvo porque esa era la pasión de Evaristo. Trabajar en el rancho y en el taller fue donde Evaristo conoció a tanta gente para compartir de qué se trataba la vida, la felicidad. Él era precisamente la definición de felicidad. Su amor, bondad, sonrisa y sabiduría afectuosa siempre vivirá en nuestros corazones.
