

Felipe Benitez, 69 of Marlin, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022 in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marlin with Father Gregory McLaughlin officiating.
Felipe was born on January 24, 1953 to Jose and Aurora (Gorostieta) Benitez in Ayuquila, Amatepec Mexico. He immigrated to Florida at the age of 16 and worked picking oranges. Lived in Florida for several years.
Felipe met his wife, Juana in Mexico in 1986, and they were married for 35 years. They had their first son, born in 1987. Then they moved to Marlin, Texas where he started working with his brothers in repairing and building ranch fences. He then started his own business, in which he continued to build fences, and did that for 30 plus years.
He was a dedicated man to his family and job. Felipe worked almost every day, if he didn’t go to work he wasn’t happy. He also loved soccer when he was younger. Felipe played soccer in Marlin. When he was off on Sundays he would go fishing. He also had his garden where he like to spend afternoons. He loved to plant vegetables which he took pride in. Felipe always had to have a cup of coffee even after his illness. He fought to be his old self as much as he could to be a very strong man. He will truly be missed by his wife, 5 children and 13 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Juana Benitez of Marlin, son, Jose Benitez and (Rosa), daughter, Elizabeth Benitez and (Manuel), son, Felipe Benitez, Jr., and (Tash), son, Lionel Benitez, daughter, Belen Benitez all of Marlin; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Adam Benitez of Marlin, Francisco Benitez of Hempstead, sisters, Alejandra Benitez of Houston, Elvia Benitez of Houston, and brother, Elizar Benitez of Houston.
