

Geraldene Nehring, "Aunt Nonnie", entered peacefully into rest on Monday, March 31, 2014, in Marlin. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, at Adams Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Donnie Fulton officiating.
Aunt Nonnie was born February 17, 1930 in Rosenberg, Texas to the late William and Daisy Maines. On June 1, 1946 she married the love of her life, Adolph Nehring, in Marlin, and together they raised four children. Aunt Nonnie loved cooking and she loved children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. So many people who loved Nonnie will truly miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adolph Nehring; two brothers, Leslie Maines and Willard Maines; sister-in-law, Ruth Maines; and her niece, Marsha Dyer.
Aunt Nonnie leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Ronnie Nehring and former wife, Gloria, Mike Nehring and wife, Carol, Kim Lombardo, and Jeff Nehring and wife, Tricia; seven grandchildren, Carla, Beth, Ryan, Annie, Jaime, Buck, Micah; two step grandhildren, Holly and Chad; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; twin sister, Emmagene Chamberlain; longtime friend, Alice Bolden; as well as numerous nieces, nephews; and extended family members.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Piske, Robert Blakely, Kenneth "Bubba"Bennett, Charlie Kluck, Phillip Weathers and Michael Baker.
