Jane graduated from the University of Dayton in 1968 and devoted her professional life to service through education and community work. She taught secondary Spanish in the Baltimore, Maryland School District and later in the Rochester, New York School District, bringing steady care and integrity to the work of helping students learn and grow.
Her commitment to the public good extended beyond the classroom. Jane served as a member of the Williamson, NY School District Board of Education, and she also contributed her skills as editor of the Honeoye Falls, NY Sentinel. She later worked as a children’s librarian at the Avon, NY Public Library, where her compassion and kind-hearted presence were well suited to welcoming young readers and supporting families.
In Texas, Jane continued to give her time thoughtfully, serving as a member of several Belton, TX municipal committees. In retirement, she returned her attention to the quiet, sustaining joys of home, devoting time in Marlin to vegetable and flower gardening—work that reflected her gentle spirit and the care she brought to all she did.
Survivors include her husband, Walt, three nieces, and several grand nieces and nephews.
