
Joe Farmer, 81, of Marlin, Texas, was born January 5, 1945, in Marlin, Texas, and passed away February 28, 2026. A hard-working and humorous man, Joe will be remembered with respect and gratitude by all who knew him.
In his early life, Joe lived in Golinda and attended Chilton schools. He moved to West Texas when he was 15 and worked for Long S Gin Company as a truck driver. He later moved back to Marlin in his 40's and worked for Roming and Green Trucking, Inc.
After retiring from the trucking industry, Joe started a gun sales and repair business out of his home.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, G.L and Irene Farmer; sister, Janye Farmer Roming; brothers, Howard S. (Smithy) Farmer and Jack Farmer; sons, Cory Joe Farmer and Jay Bryan Farmer; and two nephews, Ronnie and Greg Smith.
Survivors include his brother, Tonnie Lee "Bud" Farmer of Gilmer, Texas; three grandsons, Christopher Farmer of Temple, Sean Furr Farmer and husband, Kaden of McKinney, Texas, and Dillan Farmer and girlfriend Brittany Garza of Huntsville; nieces, Susan Willars and husband, Lee of Waco, Doni Farmer Powell of Arkansas, Randie Farmer Broughton and husband, Randy of Durango, and Jodie Farmer DeLeon and husband, Brandon of Marlin; nephews, Neil Farmer of Arkansas and Jason Farmer and wife, Diana of Lorena; and several great nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on March 12, 2026, at Union Cemetery, 1423 Hwy 935, Durango, Texas 76656.
