

Joe Rosas, Jr., 61, of Marlin, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Marlin with the Reverend Arthur Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2nd at Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Rosas was born on August 1, 1952 in Marlin to Joe and Rosie (Beltran) Rosas. He was a member of Falls County Hispanic Club, Marlin Men’s Civic Association and Falls County Ducks Unlimited. Mr. Rosas was a ranch foreman most of his life working for the Hay Ranch, managing Walsh Ranch and working for Harry Lane Powell Ranch. He competed in Ranch Hand Rodeos. He formerly owned P.J.’s Tap Room and the Town Door and currently owned and operated the Waterhole Bar and Grill. Mr. Rosas loved to cook, fish, horses, dominos, shot pool and happy hour. He was a very social man, loved being around family and friends, he was a generous man loved by many; he influenced many and loved life. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Raymond Rosas, sister; Rebecca Mendoza and a grandson; Dustin Kinsey, Jr.
Survivors include his wife; Kaylah Rosas, son; David Rosas and his wife, Kristi, daughter; Shelby Rosas, step daughters; Crystal Zimmerman and Somerton Zbranek, grandchildren; Morgan Rosas, Carter Rosas, Kiersten Kinsey and Landon Kinsey, brother; Nano Rosas, sisters; Florence Martinez and her husband, Pete, Sr., Rosie Salazar and her husband, Paul, Alisa Tovar and Mary Helen Ledesma and her husband, Ismael and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorials may be made to the Joe Rosas Marlin Men’s Civic Association Scholarship fund at Citizens State Bank, 101 Live Oak, Marlin, Texas 76661.
