Joyce Lucille (Hines) Hyvl passed away on May 31, 2026 in her room at Golden Years Nursing and Rehab facility in Marlin, Texas. Joyce was born on July 17, 1954 in McMullen, Texas to William and Velma Hines.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Melvin Fehrle - who was the love of her life. Her parents, William and Velma Hines, beloved daughter, Brandy Hyvl, and one sister also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother, Larry Hale, and remaining 2 sisters - Glenda Hines and Jonell Speak, countless nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews, daughter Betty Gibson and partner Robbie Ball, daughter and son-in-law Robyn and Daniel Sligh, 6 grandchildren, and several great-grand children. She is also survived by her husband’s children Edna Fehrle, her brother Walter, and their families.
Joyce was a straight talker who did not beat around a bush about how she felt about a situation or person. Her passions were drinking Pepsi, her love for her beloved dog Sugar, her church, her friends, and last but not least, enjoying time with her beloved husband. She would often say that there was many things in her life that she could not change, but that once she met Melvin she tried to live the rest of her life as a good person and earn her place in Heaven. Her philosophy was karma will come around full circle to anyone who lies, cheats, or steals.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful team at Golden Years Nursing and Rehab Facility and her favorite Nurse, Dona, for ensuring her final months on this Earth were entertaining. In the end, she was at peace with her life, found and blossomed new relationships from within her past, and had no regrets. A thank you to all the other special people that made her last months comfortable.
