Mrs. Whisenand was born om April 22, 1956 in Great Lakes, Illinois to Robert and Opal (Maffett) Fernandes. She married Chuck Whisenand on June 25, 1977 and they celebrate over 48 wonderful years together.
She was an artist, loved to weave, expert seamstress and a gourmet cook. Karen work for Frito Lay for over 22 years in California.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Chuck, sisters, Becky Jumper and her husband, David and Vicki Gelet and her husband, Brian and brother, Robert Fernandes.
