

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 1 from 6 to 8pm at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 2 at 11am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marlin with Rev. John Kelley officiating. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
Laurie was born in Waco on December 20, 1973 to William and Ann (Bielamowicz) Wilganowski. She grew up in Marlin and attended Marlin High School. In 1995, Laurie married Rene Martinez. She was employed at Texas TransEastern for over 10 years and had worked her way up to management during her time there. Laurie was an energetic and fun loving person. She loved to shop and spend time with friends and family. She adored her two sons and would always find a way to attend any activity they were involved in. Family came first. Laurie was a great friend to many. She made sure she was there any time help was needed. She was a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day to so many people and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Laurie was preceded in death by her father, William Wilganowski and her infant son, Andrew.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Rene Martinez and her two sons, Brandon and Brent; her mother, Ann Wilganowski Delgado and husband John ; sisters, Diane Cozzolino and husband Vince, Carolyn Wachel and husband Larry, Suzanne Holyfield and husband Kevin and Sharon Stephens and fiancé David Welch; half sister, Carmon Springer and husband Will; mother-in-law, Tina Castillo and husband Marcos; sisters-in-law, Patricia Martinez and Crystal Dominguez and husband Carlos; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and also her beloved little “Chatese” Rio.
Pallbearers will be David Welch, Don Wilganowski, Ricky Berry, Larry Wachel, Carlos Dominguez and Kevin Holyfield.
