Marion Byrd Gamble

Marion Byrd Gamble, age 87 of Marlin, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Adams Funeral Home with Reverend John Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the funeral home.

Marion was born on April 14, 1935 in Cashford, Alabama to Rufus Jackson and Manda June Gamble. He graduated from Accredited High School in Columbia, Alabama. Marion served 9 years in the United States Army as a Military Policeman and 23 years in the Federal Bureau of Prison. Following retirement, He started his own lawn service until 2017. He loved playing skip bo and working in his yard and also doing lawns for other people in the community.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Marion Byrd Gamble, Jr.

Survivors include a special friend and caretaker, Helen Coble and Sharon Childre, daughters, Rhonda Whitman, Linda Martin, three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Pallbearers: Cannon Wills, Cameron Wills, Chad Hogg, Coltin Hogg, Justin Childre, and Collin Childre.
