

Stormy Newsome Aldredge, 78, died September 5, 2026, in Rogers, Arkansas. She was born October 7, 1947, in Abilene, Texas, the only child of John and Roberta Teston Newsome. She attended Valley View Elementary School, Lincoln Junior High, and was a 1966 graduate of Abilene High School. She graduated on the Dean’s List in 1969 from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and in 1973 with a Master of Education. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and Theta Sigma Phi.
She married John Clinton Aldredge on December 20, 1969, and they settled in Lubbock, Texas, where they had two daughters, Katherine and Robin. Stormy taught at Dunbar High, Evans Junior High, and adult education in the Lubbock ISD for seventeen years.
In 1988, Stormy and her family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she taught adult education at Dekalb Tech in the Positive Employment and Community Health (P.E.A.C.H.) program. In 1990, she was named one of Atlanta’s Five Winning Women, an award given to one who had a positive influence on the lives of others.
Five years later, Stormy and her family moved to Lakeway, Texas where she taught at Austin Community College in the Parallel Studies Department. In 1997, they moved once more to Dallas, Texas, where she taught in the Richardson ISD at North Junior High and in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD at DeWitt Perry Middle School. She retired in 2011.
She was a member of Philanthropic Education Organization (P.E.O.), and was an active member of BAB’s book club.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Carrie Aldredge, and her parents. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Aldredge; a daughter, Robin Aldredge Kraase, and her husband, Michael; a grandson, Logan Michael Kraase; and a granddaughter, Charlotte Katherine Kraase.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Adams Funeral Home, Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Brad Flack officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin, Texas next to her daughter.
Pallbearers include Heath Curry, Adam Eaton, Brent Eaton, Clay Huggins, Michael Kraase and Scott Morgan.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Buckner Baptist Children's Home or Hendrick Home for Children.
