Vincencia "Vincy" Corpora Ward

Vincencia (Vincy) Corpora Ward, daughter of Lena and Louis Corpora, was born on July 17, 1948 in Marlin, Texas. It was here that she fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Dean, who she later married. After Vincy’s college and Dean’s Navy Reserve service, they moved to Cypress where they raised their daughter, Sandra. Sandy was the light of her life - and Dean (“Darlin”) the love of her life. They were inseparable throughout their marriage of fifty -five years. Their two grandchildren, (Carly and Brady Wunderlich) and son-in-law (Sam) brought even more joy to their loving family.

A vivacious woman, Vincy was high spirited and full of life. Her vibrant energy and bright smile were contagious and drew people to her like a magnet. Her family and many friends admired her positivity, outgoing nature and sprightly sense of fun. Children were especially drawn to her - and not just her students whom she taught for almost four decades. Friends of her grandchildren and random children were also attracted to her enchanting smile. She welcomed them all with love, kindness and hugs. Vincy was beautiful on the outside as well and took pains to put her best self forward - even if only to go fishing or do yard work. She was always impeccably dressed, cosmetics applied carefully, perfect mani-pedi, and adorned with glittery jewelry and accessories to match her sparkling smile. The Heavens now have a new star that outshines them all.

Vincy left this world as she lived it - with courage, positivity and grace. Her tenacity and strength of spirit held fast over the years to beat back the cancer that tried again and again to conquer her. She did not complain or share her suffering - but stoically fought the disease with her powerful will, positive energy and faith in prayer. She passed at home surrounded by family - devoted to her til her last breath.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lena and Louis Corpora and survived by her husband Dean; daughter Sandy and husband Sam Wunderlich; grandchildren Carly and Brady.
