

Albert William Narvaez, Sr., a native of Jefferson Parish, passed away on October 3, 2014 at the age of 86. Albert was born on October 15, 1927 in Leon, Nicaragua. He went on to serve in the United States Air Force from January 21, 1946 to January 20, 1949. His rank when he was honorably discharged was Sergeant. He obtained his associates degree as a Class A Gasfitter and Air Conditioning Contractor from Delgado Community College, through his G.I. Bill, awarded to him for his service to the United States in WWII. He was Owner of his own A/C Business, named Hot Chili Pepper. He was the son of the of the late Santos Narvaez and Francisca Villavicencio Narvaez. He is survived by his wife, Nelly Narvaez. He was the father of Juanita Doyle (late Douglas), Albert Narvaez Jr. (TroyAnn), Gail Cassard (Rene), Kelley Narvaez (John Paul), Anna Barnett (Sam), George Motte (Jackie), and the late Jimmy Narvaez. He was affectionately known as Paw Paw Chocolate to his 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Brother of Clotilde Narvaez Vargas (Noel, Sr.) Frances Garcia Penton (Jerry). He is also survived by numerous stepdaughters, stepsons, sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, as well as his beloved pets Pichie, Chi-Chi, Green Hornet, and Tuna the Cat. He will be truly missed by his friends at FLICK Distributing Co. Known as Mr. Miyagi. He didn’t believe in the word “Can’t”: that word was not in his vocabulary. He was always a positive person. He was always ready to cook for his family and friends.
His passions were cooking, dancing, drinking a cold beer, old movies, Spider-Man, Super-Man, Saints, LSU, and his family.
A Memorial Mass will be held on November 8, 2014 at Christ the King Church, 2106 Deerfield Rd., Gretna, LA 70053, at 11:00 AM. Directly after Mass, friends and family are invited to the Bayou Segnette State Park (Pavilion #2), 7777 Westbank Expressway, Westwego, LA 70094, for food and drink to celebrate the life of Albert W.
