Sister Alberta Logan Green was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the hospital. She was born on August 27, 1929 to the union of the late Jessie and Willie B. Stone Logan. She was one of nine children. She was employed as a cook by the Orleans Parish Schools until her retirement.
She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She was a member at the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Norman Francis and Word of Truth Fellowship by Pastor Hebert L. Broussard.
Sister Logan Green leaves to cherish her memories her two sons Joseph and Johnny Green (Beverly), daughter Katherine Green Johnson, 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, friend Linda Sylve, God-child Bobby Logan, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Willie Logan; five brothers, Ester Fullilove, Jimmie, Jessie, Johnny, and Leroy Logan; three sisters, Magnolia Jackson, Ruby Brooks, and L.V. Baugh; two grandchildren, Derrick Ware and Joseph A. Green; and her husband, Joseph I. Green.
The Green family would like to thank Mr. Leo and Nancy Denault of New Orleans, Mr. Jim and Kathy Costello of New Braunfels, Tx, Dr. Enrique and Karen Palacios of New Orleans, and Dr. Fernando and Laura Sanchez of New Orleans.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 8:30 AM. Interment will follow in Restlawn Cemetery.
